Can you share a bit about yourself?

My name is Mercy, and I am the founder of CakesForAll, based in Manchester, UK. CakesForAll is an international luxury cake brand known for tall contemporary designs, bold colour palettes, and my signature luxury ganache finish. What began as a simple lockdown hobby has grown into a global brand where I teach, create, mentor, and inspire bakers from all over the world.

Your cakes are stunning! How did you start your cake-decorating journey?

My journey began during the Covid lockdown. I was craving red velvet cake but couldn’t find a really good one anywhere, so I searched for a recipe on YouTube, tried it, and it came out delicious. That simple moment sparked everything.

My mum suggested I start selling cakes, but at the time, I didn’t believe anyone would want to buy from me. I had no experience and didn’t know where to begin. So I turned back to YouTube, studied as much as I could, practiced consistently, and kept sharing my work online. Slowly, people started noticing, and that’s how CakesForAll was born.

How did you decide to use ganache instead of buttercream for your cakes?

Ganache completely elevated my style. I loved its stability, clean structure, and luxurious finish. It allowed me to create the tall, sharp-edged designs that define my brand today. While buttercream is lovely, ganache gave me the precision and high-end look I wanted, and it naturally became my niche and signature.

What can you tell me about your ganache cake workshops?

My luxury ganache workshops are a key part of my brand. I teach internationally across the UK, Paris, Ghana, and more. I also welcome students from all over the world who travel to attend my classes in Manchester.

Ganache Cake Workshop (Jaguar Inspired)

In my workshops, students learn:

  • My signature ganache recipe, including my signature buttercream recipe
  • My signature cake structure and how to build tall, stable tiers
  • How to achieve clean, sharp edges
  • Colour harmony and modern palette creation
  • Branding, photography & building a recognisable cake style
  • Product and tool sorting, ensuring students understand exactly what they need to work on and where to buy it.

I also offer online classes, and  I have a detailed ganache eBook for bakers who want to learn from anywhere in the world.

What are your favourite tools to work with a ganache cake?

My essential tools include:

  • A tall metal scraper
  • A mini metal scraper
  • An offset spatula
  • A sturdy metal turntable

These tools help me achieve the clean, luxury ganache finish.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I draw inspiration from artwork, fashion, florals, textures, interior decor, architecture, and editorial photography. My creativity is very instinctive. I visualise ideas in my mind and bring them to life without ever sketching. I have actually never sketched a cake before.

My designs evolve naturally as inspiration flows, and my goal is always to create cakes that feel modern, stylish, and truly statement-worthy.

Are there any cake trends that you love to do?

Looking ahead to 2026, I want to focus more on wedding cakes and advanced structural designs. I really want to push my creative limits and explore architectural, innovative cakes that elevate my artistry even further.

What is your favourite thing to do besides making cakes?

I love teaching and mentoring bakers, helping them grow their skills and confidence. I also enjoy interior decor, makeup and beauty, hairstyling, fashion, travelling, and maybe cooking. These are the things that naturally influence my artistic style and creative direction.

Which cake flavor do you like the best?

My favourite cake flavour is red velvet, the very flavour that started my baking journey, so it will always be special to me.
