What are the mini cake pans?
I first fell in love with these mini cake pans when Taryn @ Life and Sprinkles shared her adorable mini cake pans on social media. The mini cake pans are essentially baked cakes into foil-lined cake pans. Select a favorite recipe, make the batter, pour it into the pans, bake them for 20-30 minutes at 325 degrees, add some buttercream, and decorate as you wish. The doctored cake mix and buttercream recipe card are below. However, you can use any recipe.
Mini Cake Pans Tips
The mini cake pans should be cold when you are ready to decorate. It is easier to decorate when they are cold, and there are fewer crumbs to deal with. If the mini cake pans are domed, you can slice off the dome with a sharp knife.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Make the batter according to the recipe you are using. I filled the pans a little bit less than halfway because the recipe would make the cake dome.

Step 2: Bake at 325 degrees (F) for approximately 25-30 minutes. It would help if you watched the pans because every recipe’s baking time can vary. The cake is ready if the toothpick is clean with a few crumbs. Put the lids on them and refrigerate them for an hour so the cakes will be cold and clean when you cut off the tops.

Step 3: Cut off the excess cake with a sharp knife.
Step 4: Color the buttercream gray with a couple of black gel food coloring drops. Color the buttercream pink with a couple of pink gel food coloring drops.

Step 5: Spread buttercream on the mini cake pan using a small offset spatula.

Step 6: Place the bloody candy eyeballs on the mini cake pan.
Step 7: Fill the piping bag with the basketweave piping tip and gray (or pink) buttercream.

Step 8: Begin to pipe the mummy’s wrappings with the smooth tip on the top (the grooved tip should be pointing down).

Step 9: Pipe in a zigzag pattern to create mummy wrappings.

Step 10: Once the mummy wrapping is done, repeat the process, but pipe in the gaps instead of following the zigzag pattern.

Step 11: Once the process is complete, sprinkle on “dirt” by using black sanding sugar or oreo crumbles!
Step 12: Repeat the process with the pink buttercream or any other color you want to use.

These fun mummy mini cake pans will be unique for your Halloween party, providing a delightful and spooky touch to your festive celebration! Not only do they allow you to create adorable little cakes shaped like mummies, but they also serve as a conversation piece that will impress your guests. Bakers, they are also great for your Halloween order collections!
