The Top Reasons For Getting A Cricut for Bakers
You Need A Cricut For Your Baking Business
Getting a Cricut Maker was one of the best investments for my baking business. It allows me to do various things for my cakes and desserts to get them to the next level, such as customization! Read on to see how I use a Cricut for my baking business, and you’ll be inspired to put it on your wishlist! Save this blog post on getting a Cricut for bakers.

What Is A Cricut?
A Cricut is a line of cutting machines that allows people to create personalized crafting projects, such as T-shirts, cups, stickers, and many more. They have a range of machines from Cricut Joy, Cricut Explore to Cricut Maker. For this blog purpose, only Cricut Explorer and Maker can do the things below. A Cricut Joy Xtra may be able to do most of them on a smaller scale such as small stencils, cupcake & cake toppers, stickers and etc but I don’t have personal experience using this machine. Here’s a link to compare the machines on the Cricut’s website. Below is what I can do with my Cricut Maker!

Is Cricut Access Subscription Worth it?
100% absolutely worth it! At first, when I signed up for it a few years ago, I did not think that it was worth it but they have made a ton of changes to the Cricut Access such as allowing creators to upload their own designs and we can select to use a design and cut with a click (after making adjustments for your design). Most of the time, I’ve picked designs for my shaped cakes, cake toppers, and many more. It just saves me a ton of time designing from scratch. If I don’t find something I want or need, I will design on my own but having Cricut Access is extremely helpful!
Quick Reel On What I Do With My Cricut
My Top Reasons For Getting A Cricut

01
Create Cake Stencils for Fun Shaped Cakes
Owning a Cricut allows you to create cake stencils for fun-shaped cakes like this bunny head cake! This is one of my favorite ways to use a Cricut using their acetate sheets which are washable and reusable. I’ve made a gingerbread man, pinata cake, Jack o’ Lantern Halloween cake, and more.

02
Create Cake Stencils for Cakes
I also can create stencils using my Cricut and acetate sheets for stenciling my cake as pictured here! So many options!

03
Create Stencils for Cupcakes
I can create stencils using my Cricut and acetate sheets for stenciling my cupcakes as well! So many options!

04
Create Stencils for Mini Cakes
Once again, my Cricut and acetate sheets are coming in handy for stenciling my mini cakes! Have I mentioned how much I love having the machine?

05
Make Letter & Number Cakes
Making letter & number cakes is easier than ever with the stencils cut by Cricut! The stencils are washable and reusable as well as easy to store in your cake decorating toolbox or shelf. Below is a link to a video of another number cake using poster board (can be found at Michaels).

06
Make edible gold letters
Have you ever seen cakes with gorgeous gold letters? This is how! Using a Cricut allows you to create beautiful gold letters! Check out the video below on how to achieve this. I use Paper2Eat edible sheets because they are the most sturdiest edible sheets I’ve used and they come with a plastic backing which is helpful with cutting them on a mat. It protects the edible paper from anything from the mat. Then I use gold edible luster powder slightly dipped in vodka to brush on the letters and topping them off with gold edible glitter. TIP: I use a separate cutting mat and blade & housing when doing the edible letters to keep it food safe. Doing this requires a lot of patience when weeding because they are so delicate.

07
Customize and cut fonts for edible letters
I have the ability to choose any font for my cakes, preferably thick fonts because they are easier to weed. Thin fonts are painful to weed!

08
Decorate Beautiful Cake Drums
Sometimes, my customers would want the cake drum to have a personalized message such as this cake. I use white heavy cardstock to print and cut the letters then glue them on the cake drum!

09
Create Cake Toppers
Creating and customizing cake toppers for my orders are possible with the Cricut! There are many design options in the Cricut Access subscription such as this Dad cake topper. I used glitter cardstock to cut with.

10
Create Cupcake Toppers
Creating customized toppers for the cupcakes are also possible!

11
Create Stickers for my packaging
I was so excited when Cricut added the feature to create stickers to their subscription program! You will have the ability to create either die-cut or kiss-cut stickers. I created these baseball jersey names stickers for Oreo treats for my youngest’s baseball team.

12
Make Cute T-Shirts
Finally, I also make fun designs for my t-shirts baking related or not!
